Classmating (愛好の儀 "Love Ritul") is the mating ritual between the God's Gift and the Star Maidens to breed Star Children after their soul is created inside a Matryoshka. The Star Child's abilities and status are determined by the strong bond with the Star Maidens, where their affections are measured by Kizuna Point (KP) (キズナポイント "Bonding Points") earned from the right dialogue during their conversation events. In addition to the type of Matryoshka used, the Star Child born can receive a special boost or hand out special rewards.
Description[]
Despite Classmating seeming like regular reproduction, intercourse has nothing to do with ritual whatsoever. The ritual requires all participants to be physically in sync with each other in order for the best results. Many who have done the ritual compare it to performing a provocative dance. Everyone's interactions with each other will cause Star Energy to fill the Star Womb and a Star Child is born as a result. The results of Classmating are dependent on God's Gifts partner's mood, the strength of their bonds, and what kind of Matryoshka was used. At the beginning of each game, both Itsuki Yuge and Wake Archus could only create basic Star Children classes with their respective partners. As their bonds with their partners grew stronger, the more powerful the Star Children they create became.
Creating Star Children has other benefits than having a new being able to fight Impurities. Once a Star Child is born, they grant effects like giving the player extra money, reducing the BP cost required to make them, increasing the mood of one of God's Gift's partners and others. While Classmating always will result in at least one Star Child, there is always a chance that twins can be born. Having a stronger bond with the Star Maidens or Heroines and in the case of Conception: Please Give Birth to My Child!! and Conception Plus: Maidens of the Twelve Stars, doing the ritual with specific Star Maidens on particular months increases the chance that twins will be born.
Tri-Mating[]
In Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars, the ritual is modified into Double Classmating (W愛好の儀 ) (called Tri-Mating in English) where the player can mate with 2 Star Maidens or heroines to breed more powerful Star Children. However, in order to do this, you must deepen your bonds with them through communication and build up their Bond power to a sufficient level. Once a heroine has at least three and a half bars of their bond meter full or 3 bars in Conception Plus, after you exit a labyrinth, a minor cutscene will play and that girl will be eligible to Tri-Mate. While Tri-Mating requires more BP than regular Classmating, the Star Children created are generally stronger, they give better rewards, and there is an increased chances that twins will be made. While not in the original Conception, it was added to Plus.
Classmanting[]
In Conception II, Ruby Coiler wanted to experiment to see if Star Children can be be created if a God's Gift Classmated with men as well as women. Normally, Classmating could only be done between a male God's Gift and an Elite S-rank woman because of their combined Star Energy and because the Star Womb could only be accessed through a female. Theoretically, Classmating with male S-Rank Disciples with high Ether counts should grant similar results to doing so with women. Ruby and Mark managed to find a way to access the Star Womb through the Mate-O-Tron by having Wake do the ritual with other men. Both Chlotz Genus(who was promised increased pay if he participated) and Alec Marker were volunteered to fill that role. It was at this point where this type of Classmating would be referred to "Classmanting". While no one was really comfortable with doing this, they ultimately agreed to go through with it. The first attempt ended in failure with no Star Children being created and everyone involved getting headaches. The second attempt did successfully result in a strong Star Child being born. Everyone was pleased by the results and Ruby and Mark wanted to study it more. Unfortunately, when the guys wanted to check up on the Star Child they made, it was revealed it died not too long after it was created. This loss hit everyone involved and the research into "Classmanting" was halted.
